CrossFit Kids Certified Sara (AKA Iron Maiden) has been training in CrossFit Methodology and Programming since 2009. She opened CrossFit South Valley in 2010 and has the time of her life. Her greatest success in life are her 3 kids, so CrossFit for her is the vehicle to overcome some of those family genetic precursors. "We can't predict the future, but we can create it" through a well planned life with lots of the simple concepts she found in CrossFit. Sara has her CF-L1 and CF Kids certifications. Community, Caring about people, and managing "Life" as it comes are common goals for most, and Sara is the driver and head coach for these simple yet time tested principles at CrossFit South Valley. Sara is the driver of her vision of how CrossFit can change your life.
CrossFit Kids certified Mike Terry Trainer, Owner, and Coach at CrossFit South Valley, started in 2009 with his co-worker's as a way to "Team Build" and get into a different shape than he was in. Mike has a full time job training for the Ken Garff organization but he also enjoys training and working with people in the gym and in life, which is no surprise since he has been very active as a kid. He's been involved in all kinds of athletic programs and extracurricular activities, including snowboarding with his kids, and all kinds of races from Marathons to 5ks. Training and Coaching are some of the best opportunities to help people. Mike is married to Sara, the owner of CFSV and loves to help her and the members at CFSV improve and better themselves.
Zach was involved with athletics and sports from a young age. He began with Karate and worked his way up to the top. When Zach hit his teens he decided to change sports and try BMX. He competed nationally and took home State Champ one of his years competing. High School came and Zach decided to switch from BMX to Lacrosse, which he played sophmore year while also taking a weight lifting class.
Zach always enjoyed the gym. However, after a few years of the typical "gym routine," he found himself at a loss for where to go next. Enter CrossFit. After a brutal first WOD involving a 7 Minute AMRAP couplet of Wall Balls and Running, there was no turning back; he was excited about the possibility of not only improving his own fitness, but also having the opportunity to coach others with his Level 1 Cert. He admits he falls more in love with CrossFit and his girlfriend everyday.
Zach started at CrossFit South Valley and has never questioned that this is the place he needs to be, with it's close community and friendships he's formed.
